Attractions

Addo Elephant National Park:

Our open-top safari vehicle departs daily to Addo Elephant National Park daily. Accompany our in-house guide for a unforgetable game experience, observing the behaviour of the unique Addo Elephants.

Addo Elephant Back Safaris:

Arrange an exhilarating elephant back safari.  This is once a life time experience!  Spend the morning or afternoon walking, riding and feeding these gentle giants.  Guests can either be transfered by road or air, departing from Hitgeheim' private airstrip.

Schotia Private Game Reserve:

The half day 'Tooth & Claw Safari' is high recommendable to the first time visitor to Africa.  Here you will experience an exciting afternoon/evening by going on game drives where there is a 99% chance of excellent lion sightings and other wild life like rhinocerous, giraffe, crocodile to mention but a few.  The day is ended by an African dinner, all prepared on open fires and served in the boma.   

Cheetah Breeding Sanctuary:

Take a 30 min scenic drive through the citrus orchards of the Sundays River Valley to this sanctuary where guests can cuddle tiny cheetahs and lion cubs. 

Addo Raptor & Reptile Centre:

A visit to this one-man show is worth your while!  An introduction to venomous creatures of Africa will remind you of the wildness of Africa. 

 Amakhala Game Reserve:

For those that have done it all and need to see something typical of the Eastern Cape Wildlife Reserves.  The safari includes a game drive and a river cruise.  Lunch is served on the river boat and  allow offer magnificent birding.  The game drive offer the visitor the opportunity to spot the 'Big 5'.

Facilities

We have established a reputation for outstanding cuisine.  All meals are planned and prepared by our resident Cordon Bleu Chef.  Sun-downer drinks, cocktails and canapes are served on the veranda off the lounge during sunset where after dinner is served in 'The Dining Room'.  Dinner (6-course set menu) is presented every evening and served in luxurious splendour.  Light lunch is available on request.  Breakfast can be enjoyed in 'The Dining Room' or the deck overlooking the Sundays River Valley.
