The Eastern Cape boasts a wide variety of accommodation, including game lodges, backpacking lodges/hostels, guest Houses, hotels, bed & breakfasts, camp sites, self -catering accommodation, boutique Hotels, guest farm stays and home stays.

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA)  performs a vital role in ensuring that a standard of quality is achieved across all the services and facilities offered by the South African tourism industry.  

 

 

Not all establishments in the Eastern Cape are star-graded. However, this does not necessarily mean that they offer a bad service.  The grading process is a voluntary one.  We as the Eastern Cape Tourism Board continue to encourage our tourism service providers to have their establishments graded where possible.

 

Other recoginised memberships, awards or endorsements to look out for when looking for accommodation include: SATSA, AA, Portfolio Collection, Fair Trade in Tourism and ETEYA.  Local Tourism Bureaus also have membership listings which can assist you in making the correct choice.
